Flooding And Mudslide

I tuned in to CNN and they were airing the news of flooding in Queensland, Australia. So far there were 15 fatalities and more than 70 people still missing.

There was one story that touched my heart, a teenager, Jordan Rice 13, who was scared of water drowned in the Queensland floods after begging rescuers to save his younger brother first. He was trapped in a family car with his mother and 10 year old brother. Only his brother was rescued while mother and son swept to their deaths in the torrent.

Water rushes under a railway bridge on Tuesday, January 11, in Toowoomba, Australia. Flash foods swept through the town, which is about 125 kilometers (80 miles) west of Brisbane, on Monday afternoon.

Then, there was flooding and mudslide in Rio De Janiero,Brazil where thousands of families living on mountain slopes or on river banks in Brazil face "extreme risk" of being washed away in heavy rains and flooding that have killed nearly 400 people. The rain in the region began January 1.

In Sri Lanka heavy rains forces thousands of people  to flee their homes  after flooding and mudslides.
