Nostalgia

As i was blogwalking i notice most of the  blog i visited are owned by those in their twenties, thirties even teenagers. Very creative are these bloggers, very exquisite are their blogs and i am impressed.
Brings me back down the memory lane. Back then in college we don't have PCs or laptop or notebook , for our assignment or project paper we use this thing called typewriter. It only works one way i.e type. No way you could embed pictures, changed font or font size but one thing we could change was the  text colour to red.

It was in 1984 when i landed my first and only job in one of the telecommunication company, actually it's the only one. We were venturing into a new era, the DIGITAL era. I was one of the many new technical staffs  involved in the evolution. I had to learn new system which was very foreign to me, 360 degrees lagging from my college syllabus. It was a Japanese switching system and  i had to learn from a japanese instructor.Oh boy ! sure had a tough time understanding  Japanese-English. It was my first hands on a terminal. Just put in the command according to the command manual. We had one rack of instruction manuals and operation  manuals all  you have to do is searched......manually.

My first computer (that's what we called it those days) was a Hyundai, operating system - Dos. Not user friendly . Green C:/ prompt. Floppy disk. But at least it expedite my monthly reports. Gone was the typewriter except for some nearing pensioned staffs who could not part with it.

Oh gosh...what a nostalgic moment i'm  having.
