Chocolate & Praline Class

Today i enrolled myself in a chocolate making class conducted by one Chef Asma in Puchong. It was from 10 am till 5.30 pm and food is provided. What made me sign up for this class in the first place? Well, seeing chocolate kiosk in shopping malls and dining in one of the chocolate shop i was curious on how it is made. My  daughter even ordered one box of home made chocolate delivered to her office for my wedding anniversary.  I'd just like to add  a few more  knowledge to what that i have.

Now i know, to make chocolate you don't use cooking chocolate. There are two types of chocolate i.e  compound and couverture. Then u  have dark chocolate, white chocolate and milk chocolate. You can use fillings eg  strawberry, mango, raspberry and even durian other than the nuts and dates. Then. there are  moulds with various pattern ranging from RM 10 to RM 200 depending on the material of the mould. I found out that having a chiller is  a must if you are into culinary business.

Here are some pictures that i managed to capture during my class of chocolate & praline. We had our hands dirty  with chocolate during hands on that i couldn't take more pictures.

Chocolate cooked using double boiler

Piped chocolate into the plastic mould

Using magnetic mould

Before putting in fillings
