Catch Of the Day!

Last night i had a surprise of my life, i saw a mouse in my kitchen! i am `musophobic' (i google it out - it comes  from Latin mus for "mouse"-) i.e fear of mouse. I was stunned for a while coz it was `walking' slowly,  usually it just `zapped by' sort of like a glimpse. I shouted out for my hubby but he was past asleep, lucky me my youngest son came to the rescue. He was  playing Counter Strike on the PC(school holiday is the only time he is allowed to play CS). He went to the laundry room and took the mouse trap and as bait we use the powerful `ikan billis'. We bought the mouse trap a few months back coz we had an encounter with one terrorizing mouse which moved like a lightning but alas it still falls prey to the mouse trap. BTW, before storing the mouse trap u need to pour  boiling water over it to wash away whatever smell it left so that we can reuse it whenever the need arises and sure enough last night was the night!

This morning when i got up, i checked the mouse trap from afar. I notice the trap door dropped but i don't see any movement. I went upstairs, woke my husband up and then my son who confirmed we had a catch of the day!  My husband as usual will not in any way kill the poor thing, put it behind the bonnet of his car and took it joyriding. U won't believe the journey the mouse had becoz today we had to send  our daughter to Cyberjaya since she had sprained her ankle playing badminton but need to go to work for some  unfinish business. It was very difficult to find the new location without affecting other human being. We headed home and even stopped for breakfast with`it 'still behind the bonnet. Finally, we end up letting it go at the same spot that we freed our first victim which was the thick bushes somewhere in the `ladang kelapa sawit'. My husband said `it just vanished into thin air' when he opened the cage door.

Till this day i  don 't know  how the mouse got into our vicinity, i've lived here for 3 years mouse free but then  when  my new neigbour first moved in i saw them  catching a few. Could they accidently brought em along??or perhaps the initial mouse found its way home??Just wondering...

Do hope it would be be the last encounter of the mouse kind!!
